The TSUBAME integrated-head tripods series are the classic models for photography. Their robustness, timeless design, and reliable operability have made them a popular choice even more than 60 years after their release in Japan. While the market is dominated by models with separable heads and legs, these models' integrated design eliminates the worry of the head loosening during transport or shooting, and it is lighter and more rigid than models with detachable heads.
These tripods are robust and durable, eliminating extra accessories and allowing for easy maintenance by users. They are equipped with a sturdy elevator using rack and pinion gears. Shoulder straps are also included as standard, making them easy to carry. These tripods have been constantly improved to meet the demands of professional photographers, resulting in high reliability.
TSUBAME Tripod legs
While the basic configuration of the TSUBAME tripods are integrated head, tripod legs only (without heads) are also available, to accommodate a variety of shooting styles. We have variants of seven sizes, from two to five sections, to support a wide range of use cases. They're ideal for switching heads depending on the subject, or for situations where carry-on baggage size restrictions are applied for flight.
The leg pipes are made from the highest quality carefully chosen aluminum alloy in an era when carbon fiber is in its prime, achieving both high rigidity and light weight which are essential for shooting locations. Each section of the pipe is machined using a specialized machine, resulting in a single piece of metal—a manufacturing method not possible with carbon fiber pipes. There's no need to worry about cracking or peeling adhesive, and the superior durability and reliability are undeniable. Even so, the actual weight is lighter than aluminum tripods from other companies, and is comparable in weight to carbon fiber tripods.
TSUBAME 3D Head / Monopod
The TSUBAME 3‑way head is a true classic, trusted by professional photographers for decades. It moves smoothly and locks precisely - simple words, but something very few heads actually achieve. You don’t need to crank down on the knobs; a natural twist of the wrist provides more than enough locking force. And when you tighten firmly after framing, the image shift is minimal, which makes precise composition fast and intuitive.
We also offer a monopod that is built almost entirely from one leg of the TSUBAME semi‑short 4‑section tripod. It’s ideal when tripods are not allowed or when you need extra stability while shooting handheld. Free from unnecessary gimmicks and focused purely on strength and durability, this monopod is a highly reliable variation of a tripod that has been refined in the field for over 60 years.
TSUBAME KIRK Models
To make TSUBAME tripods and heads compatible with the global Arca‑style standard, we also offer several models equipped with custom quick‑release clamps from KIRK Enterprise Solutions (KES). The top plate is manufactured without a cork sheet and is machined to accept an anti‑rotation pin. Because both KES and TSUBAME officially recognize this as a collaboration model, you can use it with full confidence in terms of warranty and service support.
The clamp is a dedicated 2.6‑inch QTT model produced by KES exclusively for TSUBAME, with 1/4‑inch mounting screw holes from the outset. It can be rotated 90 degrees to the front and to either side, and cannot be set at any other angle, which prevents the clamp from accidentally loosening. No tools are required to change its orientation.
